San Francisco packs an unusual amount of personality into a fairly compact city. Chinatown, North Beach, the Mission, Castro and SoMa all have noticeably different identities, while the waterfront brings landmarks such as the Ferry Building, Alcatraz views and the Golden Gate Bridge into everyday city life. Art is scattered well beyond museums too, with murals, galleries and performance spaces woven through different neighborhoods. SoMa carries much of the larger club and venue scene, while the Mission remains closely tied to independent arts and nightlife. October adds costume events, theatrical performances and seasonal gatherings to an already busy cultural calendar.
MONSTER's BALL comes to Public Works SF on Friday, October 9, 2026, with doors opening at 8 PM and the show starting at 9 PM. The collaboration between The Ruckus Revival and Disco Donutz mixes circus performance, poetry, comedy, aerial acts, a rap battle and music before shifting into a late-night dance program. Costumes are strongly encouraged.
The night is hosted by Jamie DeWolf, Wonder Dave and Thug Shells, with additional performers and DJs appearing throughout the program. Attendance is restricted to ages 21 and over.
The Ghost Palace Halloween at Palace of Fine Arts takes over one of San Francisco’s most recognizable venues on Friday, October 30, 2026. The program begins at 9 PM, with the official ticketing schedule running into the early morning. Electroluxx joins Ghost Ship Halloween and Non Plus Ultra for the large-scale production.
Multiple stages bring together DJs, dancers and drag performances, while interactive art and installations fill other parts of the Palace of Fine Arts. Silent-disco areas, live mural painting, face painting, a foam pit and food trucks add more to explore away from the main stage.
Latin Halloween arrives at City Nights, 715 Harrison Street, on Friday, October 30, 2026, running from 9 PM to 3 AM. Four resident DJs are scheduled across two rooms, with the music moving through reggaeton, Latin trap, bachata, cumbia, merengue, club hits, EDM and house. Costumes are strongly encouraged, with live costume judging included during the night.
Frisko Eddy, Javi, HP and Lucio make up the announced resident DJ lineup. The event is 18+ for entry and 21+ for alcohol service.
Halloween 2026 at City Nights takes place on Saturday, October 31, from 9 PM until 3 AM the following morning. Six DJs are spread across two rooms, covering Top 40, club music, EDM and house, alongside a light show, confetti, photography and a live costume showcase.
The DJ lineup includes Magic Matt, Eden Roc, Javi, Mark G and Cshay. Entry is restricted to ages 18 and over, with alcohol service limited to guests aged 21+.
The SF Halloween Party Cruise - Pier Pressure Black Pearl Yacht departs from Pier 3 on the Embarcadero on October 31, 2026. Boarding begins shortly after 9:30 PM, with the San Francisco Spirit leaving the pier at 10 PM for a roughly three-hour cruise around the bay. Two DJs perform across three decks, with house, Top 40 and open-format music running during the trip.
The route is built around nighttime views of the San Francisco skyline, Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Costumes are part of the Halloween setup, but participation is restricted to ages 21 and over.
