Discover spooky facts about the Western Heights and its wildlife as you follow our self-led trail around part of the Western Heights.FREE EVENT
No booking required- turn up anytime between 11am-1pm
Pick up your trail sheet from the Community Roots van in St Martin’s Battery car park and follow the route to find ingredients for a witches brew and answer questions about local creepy wildlife. Once you’ve finished, head back to the Community Roots van to claim your prize and take part in some Halloween themed crafts.
Booking:
No booking is required, simply turn up any time between 11am-1pm to collect your trail sheet.

This free event has been made possible with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players, supporting English Heritage’s Reaching Greater Height Project & Dover District Council’s Historic England funded ‘Western Heights Heritage and Regeneration Project’.
Accessibility:
We regret to announce that this event is not wheelchair or pushchair accessible. We endeavour to make our events as accessible as possible, but due to the nature of some of our sites, this is not always possible. We deeply apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Parking:
There is free parking at St Martins Battery car park, this is also where the trail starts (What3Words reference:///validated.cards.tumblers).
Alternative parking can be found at South Military Road car park off of North Downs Way (What3Words reference: ///messy.spurned.exposes) a short walk away.
Facilities:
There are no facilities on site. The Citadel café is located a short walk away on Citadel Road.
