Just in time for Halloween, Tophat Miniature Stage Productions is bringing back the gothic musical thriller, Jekyll & Hyde to Mayo Street Arts! Classically-trained opera singers, David Worobec, along with returning special guest, Bethany Perkins, with a cast of action figures on a miniature stage, will present this classic horror musical as you have never seen it before!Based on the classic novella, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, this Broadway classic centers around Dr. Henry Jekyll who becomes obsessed with experiments involving the human soul, in the hopes of saving his mentally ill father. Jekyll believes his father's condition is linked to the inner battle between the good side and the bad side of the human soul. When being denied a human volunteer for his experiments, he decides to use himself as his test subject, which ultimately backfires on him. Instead of destroying his evil side, he unleashes it upon London, as his alter-ego, Edward Hyde. Jekyll becomes part of a tragic love triangle between him, his well-to-do fiancee, Emma Carew, and a lady of the street, Lucy Harris (who becomes entangled with Mr. Hyde). This thriller delves into the inner battle of good vs evil within all of us. But who will win?
This musical classic contains great hits such as "I Need To Know", "Take Me As I Am", "Bring On The Men", "This is The Moment", "Someone Like You", "Alive!", "A New Life" and "The Confrontation" by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse.
Trigger Warning: Show contains themes of mental illness, drugs, rape/sexual violence, prostitution and murder.
