Pack your costumes, grab your camping crew, and get ready for a Halloween weekend in the great outdoors.

The Great Melanated Little Camp of Horrors is a family-friendly, PG-13 camping experience bringing together community, Halloween fun, outdoor adventure, food, games, costumes, and just the right amount of spooky.

๐Ÿ† Melanated Games: Family Halloween Edition

Saturday brings out the competitive side of camp.

The Melanated Games: Family Halloween Edition will bring campers together for a lineup of outdoor games, team challenges, relays, and family-friendly competition.

Expect kids, teens, and adults to get involved.

Some challenges may test your speed.

Some may test your teamwork.

Others may simply test how willing you are to look ridiculous in front of the entire campground.

Bring your energy. Bring your crew. Bring your competitive spirit.

๐ŸŒ™ Saturday Night: The Little Camp of Horrors

When the sun goes down, camp changes.

Saturday evening brings The Little Camp of Horrors, our signature Halloween night experience filled with eerie environments, haunted activities, creepy characters, costumes, music, and spooky surprises throughout the campground.

Expect darkness.

Expect fog.

Expect things hiding in the woods.

And expect at least one person in your group to claim they โ€œwerenโ€™t scaredโ€ afterward.

The overall weekend is designed as a PG-13 family camping experience, but some nighttime attractions may include:

  • Darkness
  • Jump scares
  • Fog
  • Loud sounds
  • Creepy characters
  • Halloween props
  • Haunted environments

Parents and guardians should use their discretion when deciding which nighttime activities are appropriate for younger campers.

Event Photos

๐Ÿšœ Take a Ride Through the Darkness

One of the signature Saturday night experiences will be our Haunted Hayride.

Climb aboard, grab a seat, and ride through the campground after dark as the woods come alive around you.

Expect Halloween lighting, fog, decorations, creepy characters, and a few surprises waiting along the route.

The haunted hayride is designed to be spooky, fun, and memorable without crossing into graphic or extreme horror.

Event Photos

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Come Hungry

Camping is better with good food.

Saturday includes a meal with select ticket options, and additional meal choices may be available for campers who want to add food to their weekend.

Weโ€™re building the menu around hearty, crowd-friendly dishes that fit the relaxed outdoor atmosphere.

Youth meal options will also be available for younger campers.

Specific menu selections and meal details will be provided with ticket options and to registered campers before the event.

Choose Your Camp Setup

However you like to camp, weโ€™ve got a setup that fits the weekend.

Bring your own gear and build your campsite your way, or choose one of our prepared tent packages and arrive with less work waiting on you.

Camper of Horrors โ€” Bring Your Own Tent
Perfect for campers who already have their own setup. Bring your tent, sleeping gear, chairs, and camping essentials, and weโ€™ll provide the Little Camp of Horrors experience around you.

Comfort Camp of Horrors โ€” Tent + Sleep Setup
A more comfortable camping option with your tent, setup and takedown, plus basic sleeping equipment prepared before you arrive.

Glamp of Horrors โ€” Furnished Glamping Setup
For campers who want the spooky woods without giving up all the creature comforts. This package includes an upgraded furnished tent setup prepared before arrival.

RV of Horrors โ€” Bring Your Own RV or Camper
Rolling into camp with your own RV, travel trailer, or camper? Choose this option so we can reserve the appropriate site for your setup.

Each tent package can accommodate up to 4 campers, or up to 5 campers when the 5th camper is a Youth Camper.

Additional adults, youth, and little campers can be added to your reservation during checkout.

๐ŸŽƒ Make Your Campsite Part of the Experience

Your campsite isnโ€™t just where you sleep.

Itโ€™s part of the Halloween village.

We encourage campers to decorate their tents, canopies, RV areas, and campsite setups and bring their own personality into the weekend.

Go creepy.

Go funny.

Go elaborate.

Go completely overboard.

Pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts, lights, cobwebs, graveyards, monsters, and creative themes are all welcome as long as decorations remain safe and campground-friendly.

By Saturday night, we want walking through camp to feel like exploring an entire little Halloween neighborhood.

๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Bring the Whole Camping Crew

Little Camp of Horrors is designed for families, couples, friends, solo adventurers, teens, and children to experience Halloween outdoors together.

You donโ€™t have to be an experienced camper.

You donโ€™t need the fanciest equipment.

You just need to be ready to spend the weekend outside, meet some new people, and have a little fun in the woods.

The event maintains a family-friendly PG-13 atmosphere, with younger campers welcome throughout the weekend.

Campers 13 and older require a regular event ticket unless otherwise stated in the individual ticket description.

Please review ticket descriptions carefully when purchasing for your group.

Event Photos

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Choose Your Halloween Experience

You donโ€™t have to experience the weekend exactly the same way as everyone else.

Ticket and add-on options allow you to build the experience that works best for your camping crew.

Depending on the ticket selected, options may include:

  • Weekend camping admission
  • Saturday admission
  • Adult campers
  • Youth campers
  • Additional campers
  • Meals
  • Youth meals
  • Other event add-ons

Camping space and certain add-ons are limited and may sell out separately.

If your group plans to camp for the entire weekend, reserving early is strongly recommended.

๐Ÿ”ฅ A Halloween Weekend Built Around Community

At the center of all the games, costumes, decorations, food, haunted experiences, and campfires is something simple:

getting outside together.

Little Camp of Horrors is about creating a place where Black and brown families, friends, couples, and outdoor lovers can spend Halloween weekend camping, laughing, competing, eating, decorating, getting scared, and making new memories together.

By Saturday night, the lights will be glowing, the costumes will be out, the campground will be buzzing, and somewhere in the woods somebody will absolutely be screaming.

Hopefully because of the haunted attraction.

Friday

๐Ÿ•‘: 02:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Camp Check-In & Campsite Setup

Info: Welcome to camp. Check in with the Melanated Adventurers team, get your campsite assignment, unload your gear, and start turning your little corner of the woods into home for the weekend. This is your time to pitch tents, settle into your setup, decorate your campsite, meet your neighbors, and get familiar with the grounds before the sun goes down. Guests arriving later in the evening will still be able to check in, but earlier arrival is encouraged if you want plenty of setup time before dinner and opening activities.

๐Ÿ•‘: 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM
The Walking Dead Taco Bar

Info: Start the weekend with a casual, build-your-own dinner designed for hungry campers coming in from the road. Load up tacos, nachos, or bowls with seasoned meats, toppings, queso, salsa, and all the fixings, then grab some buffalo chicken dip on the side. Dinner is intentionally relaxed so families can eat, continue setting up, and ease into the weekend without feeling rushed.

๐Ÿ•‘: 07:30 PM - 09:00 PM
Welcome to Camp

Info: Camp is officially open. Gather with us for a quick welcome, weekend overview, campground expectations, safety information, and a few important camp rules before the real fun begins. Weโ€™ll walk through the major activities, explain how Saturdayโ€™s haunted rotations will work, and make sure everyone knows where to find help, food, restrooms, and key gathering areas.

๐Ÿ•‘: 09:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Friday Night Campfire & Welcome Hangout

Info: Friday night is about settling in and getting to know the people camping around you. Grab a chair, gather near the fire, enjoy music, popcorn, casual games, conversation, and a laid-back first night at camp. This is our lighter evening before Saturday turns the Halloween dial up. Costumes are welcome, but pajamas, hoodies, blankets, and camp chairs are equally appropriate.

๐Ÿ•‘: 10:00 PM
After Curfew

Info: The volume comes down, the lanterns stay on, and camp shifts into its quieter nighttime rhythm. Guests can remain around their campsites and campfire areas, but amplified music and louder activities wind down in accordance with campground rules. Enjoy the woods, enjoy the fire, and maybe resist the urge to investigate every strange sound beyond the tree line.

Saturday

๐Ÿ•‘: 08:30 AM - 10:00 AM
The Undead Breakfast Feast

Info: Pancakes, eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, coffee, juice, and more.

๐Ÿ•‘: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Camp Reflections

Info: No alarms, no whistles, no forced fun. This hour is intentionally open. Relax at your campsite, take a walk, grab another cup of coffee, get the kids ready, or simply enjoy being outside. If you want to start decorating your site for Halloween, this is also a good time to get a head start.

๐Ÿ•‘: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Halloween Campsite Setup & Free Camp Time

Info: This is your official chance to finish decorating your campsite, meet other campers, explore the grounds, take photos, play casual games, and settle into the community side of the weekend. Families can move at their own pace while campsites begin transforming for Halloween night. Expect music, laughter, decorations, and a campground that slowly starts looking a little less ordinary.

๐Ÿ•‘: 12:30 PM - 01:30 PM
The Last Meal Lunch

Info: Take a break before the afternoon games with a build-your-own sandwich lunch featuring assorted meats, cheeses, breads, wraps, toppings, potato salad, chips, fresh fruit, and drinks. This is a quick, flexible lunch designed to get everyone fed without slowing down the day.

๐Ÿ•‘: 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM
Melanated Games: Family Halloween Edition

Info: This is where camp gets competitive. Families, friends, teens, kids, and brave adults can jump into a rotation of field games, team challenges, races, relays, and Halloween-inspired competitions. Some activities will test speed, some teamwork, and some your willingness to look ridiculous in public. Prizes, bragging rights, and questionable athletic glory may be involved.

๐Ÿ•‘: 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Costumes, Campsites & Halloween Free Time

Info: The games wind down and Halloween night starts taking shape. Head back to camp, change into your costume, finish decorating your campsite, take family photos, visit neighboring setups, or simply relax before the evening begins. This is also the best window for costume touch-ups, last-minute decorations, and getting younger campers ready before dinner and nighttime programming.

๐Ÿ•‘: 05:00 PM - 06:00 PM
Costume Contest & Campsite Showcase

Info: Bring the creativity. Campers will have a chance to show off their Halloween costumes and decorated campsites before the sun goes down. Expect categories for different ages and group types, along with a few special awards for campers who really understood the assignment. Whether you went funny, creepy, clever, elaborate, or completely homemade, this is your moment to show it off.

๐Ÿ•‘: 06:30 PM - 07:30 PM
Dinner From Beyond

Info: Saturday dinner is the featured meal of the weekend. Guests will enjoy their selected entrรฉe along with shared sides and drinks while camp begins transitioning into its nighttime atmosphere. Dinner is intentionally scheduled to overlap with the start of After Dark, so as you finish your plate, lighting changes, activity zones open, and Little Camp of Horrors begins to feel a little different.

๐Ÿ•‘: 07:00 PM
Haunted Rotations & Haunted Hayride

Info: The campground comes alive after dark. Guests will rotate through scheduled Halloween experiences, including the haunted hayride and other themed areas around camp. Expect darkness, fog, loud sounds, jump scares, creepy characters, and suspenseful environments without graphic gore. Rotation times and instructions will be shared on-site so everyone has a chance to experience the night without spending the whole evening standing in line.

๐Ÿ•‘: 09:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Little Camp of Horrors After Dark Begins

Info: This is the turning point. As daylight disappears, the family camping weekend shifts into its PG-13 Halloween experience. Expect darker pathways, eerie lighting, strange sounds, surprise encounters, and a more suspenseful atmosphere around the event area. Not every activity is designed for every camper, so parents and guardians can choose what feels appropriate for their family.

๐Ÿ•‘: 08:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Campfire After Curfew

Info: Need a break from the scares? The campfire becomes the eveningโ€™s home base. Grab sโ€™mores, popcorn, hot chocolate, or coffee, pull up a chair, and decompress between nighttime activities. Some campers will use the fire as a place to regroup. Others may decide that sitting beside a bright flame is suddenly the safest place in the entire campground.

๐Ÿ•‘: 10:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Halloween Night at Camp

Info: The scheduled scares begin winding down, but Halloween night doesnโ€™t end immediately. Return to your campsite, gather around the fire, talk about what just happened, enjoy the nighttime atmosphere, and settle in at your own pace. This portion of the evening is relaxed and campsite-centered as camp transitions toward quiet hours.

Sunday

๐Ÿ•‘: 08:30 AM - 09:30 AM
The Survivorsโ€™ Breakfast

Info: You made it through the night. Celebrate your successful escape with breakfast burritos, fresh fruit, muffins, coffee, juice, and water. Breakfast is intentionally easy and portable so guests can eat at the dining area, bring food back to camp, or grab something while beginning to pack.

๐Ÿ•‘: 09:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Slow Morning & Camp Breakdown

Info: No dramatic exit required. Enjoy one final morning in the woods while packing your campsite, taking photos, exchanging contact information, returning any rented equipment, and making sure your area is clean. Families using Melanated Adventurers camping setups will receive instructions for what to leave in place and what personal items need to be removed.

๐Ÿ•‘: 11:00 AM
Final Camp Check & Goodbyes

Info: Before heading home, complete your campsite check, gather any remaining belongings, return event equipment, and say goodbye to your camp neighbors. Our team will be moving through the campground to make sure sites are clear and nothing gets left behind.
