This region has held national significance since the Romans settled here, perhaps most famous for providing coal and building ships. With so many people living, working, murdering, and dying in one area, Tyneside is bound to be filled with phantoms of the past. This talk will explore tales of ghosts and hauntings in the wider Tyneside region, including Wallsend, Gateshead, North and South Shields, and the coast.
Speaker
Icy Sedgwick is the host of the Fabulous Folklore podcast, investigating the fascinating world of European folklore with a focus on the British Isles, and the author of Rebel Folklore and Ghostlore. Former ghost hunter Icy also holds a PhD in Film Studies after examining the representation of haunted houses in contemporary Hollywood cinema.
