WE'RE BACK!! JOINS US for our next gathering of STIFF DRINKS!!!!

THIS MONTH'S EVENT is gonna get weird!! The night starts with a talk by our very own “false prophet” titled: “THAT VOODOO THAT YOU DO: A False Prophet's Tale of Navigating Religious Syncretism at Philadelphia's Historic but Neglected Mt. Vernon Cemetery.” The main focus of the talk is on a series of bizarre X-RATED religious votives volunteers recovered from beneath the blighted cemetery's vines! Since SEEING IS BELIEVING, we’ll have a selection of these cursed (and crusty) artifacts on hand for you to see and touch. These infamous offerings were tossed over MVC’s fence between 2022-2024 by a mysterious figure we call… THE HOODOO MAN! Trust us…. They are not for the shy or faint of heart. We promise, you’ll never look at anyone named Linda the same way again…
FOLLOWING THE LECTURE: we’ll go head to severed head with more (and harder) HORROR MOVIE TRIVIA. TOP THREE TEAMS TAKE HOME PRIZES!! Guaranteed to be the most challenging horror trivia in Philly!! May’s prizes are true STICKY works of art! Wait until you see them!
THEN: to ward off any bad juju that might have followed us from the cemetery - we’ll finish off the night by taking part in a protective purification ritual, called the RITE OF THE WITCH’S SHIELD, conducted by our amazing SPECIAL GUEST, Jim “Raven” Stefanowicz, High Priest of the Neo Pagan ritual group, SOUTH STREET CIRCLE - who will also be handing out complimentary MOJO BAGS!
Moving forward, STIFF DRINKS will alternate between online and in-person programming and include a variety of scholarly, accessible, and respectful public dialogues: including informal lectures, activities, charitable events, and more. Think of it as an inclusive community for taphophiles by taphophiles!! Come get the dirt on topics like human composting, local graveyard history, cemetery symbolism, cadavers, true crime, grave robbing, necrophilia - and more!
REMEMBER: Nothing’s too arcane, gruesome, taboo, or out of bounds - so long as you’re among good friends and have a couple of STIFF DRINKS!!
