Ceramic spooky season decor sculpting class

Students will make ceramic spooky season decor like ghosts, pumpkins, and mushrooms while learning introductory clay sculpting techniques. No experience necessary, this sculpting class is fun for all levels! To get into the spooky season mood, a classic Halloween movie will be playing while you create your ceramic sculptures!

What to Expect

Handbuilding Techniques: Learn the basic techinques of creating sculptures out of clay. You will be guided through each step so no prior experience is needed for this workshop. You will be provided with tips and tricks to create unique sculptures to get you in the spooky season mood.

Materials: You will be supplied with everything that you need including clay, tools, and clay slip to add color and designs to your sculptures. For the final touch, your sculpture will be glazed with clear glaze.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Clay does not stain clothing but it can get messy!

What to Bring: We encourage you to bring sketches or photos of your inspo and ideas! You are also welcome to BYOB ("Bring Your Own Booze") if you would like a nice bevvy while crafting!

Pick Up: We will handle the glazing and firing - you will be contacted 2-3 weeks after this workshop to pick up your finished piece at our studio. Shipping is also available if needed.

** The pottery experience involves some unpredictability. Firing can lead to issues like cracks and discoloration. For this reason, the final outcome of your piece cannot be guaranteed. We will not be offering refunds for pieces with imperfections. **

This is an in person event which will be held at Planted Earth Studios - 14515 122 Ave NW.

As parking in the lot is limited, please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time.
