In June of 1880, 19-year-old Juan Ramos was hanged from Vulture City’s notorious ironwood "Hanging Tree" after the murder of 15-year-old Sabrina Lucero. His crime—committed in a jealous rage—shocked the local community, and Ramos was executed without a formal trial. His death became one of the most infamous among the 18 documented hangings at this now-legendary site.
146 years later, we return to the very ground where it happened—on the exact date.
