For the second year in a row, Fairbanksans will be treated to a scary movie to celebrate Hallowe’en! As part of the First United Methodist Church’s monthly Music & More series, this year’s selection will be The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the classic 1923 silent version starring Lon Chaney as Quasimodo. Well-known local musician Dr. Paul Krejci will provide the accompaniment on the church’s “theatre” organ. Romance and horror; the cathedral and the underworld; this famous story has it all. This evening at Music & More will be a special way for families to celebrate Hallowe’en.
The church is well into its fifth year of providing these monthly performances for the community in a family-friendly atmosphere that is convenient, safe and comfortable. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged, with most of the contributions allocated to the entertainers. Scheduled start for the October 31 showing of Hunchback is 7:00 PM; the sanctuary is likely to be full well before that hour.
