About this Event

Do you like poetry that rattles bones? Enjoy feeling the spirits present in each stanza? Maybe you just want to see a poet dressed as Waluigi reading a poem from the POV of Waluigi??

We are excited to announce the Bigfoot Poetry Festival's Halloween Poetry Open Mic + Poetry Slam is back this October!

This event is a space for poets to bring their most haunted work. Any poems that have themes of horror or touch on topics surrounding Halloween are welcome. Or come decked out in a costume and share a poem from the POV of who you're dressed as (no costume penalties in this slam, folks)! All poems read at this show must be on theme.

This event is taking place at 7:00pm, with doors at 6:30pm, on Sunday, October 18th, at Rose City Guitar Company (2724 E Burnside St).

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. (Poets who sign up can pay the $10 rate at the door.) All proceeds go towards the 2027 Bigfoot Poetry Festival.

Poets in the open mic can read 1-2 poems in four minutes. Poets in the slam must bring 2 poems that are three minutes or less. Sign up in advance here -
