Discover the dark side of Amsterdam during this special Halloween walk (November 1 & 2).
How did the Spooksteeg (Ghost Alley) get its name? What moved women to tears at the Schreierstoren? And what evil was unleashed in 1566, when children in an orphanage began to scream and foam at the mouth?
Our guides will lead you through Old Amsterdam — past places where fact and folklore blend together. Can you spot the virtues and sins hidden in each story? Play along with our bingo game and see if you can uncover the city's shadowy past.
