Amsterdam is compact enough to explore on foot or by bike, but its neighbourhoods still feel quite different from one another. The historic centre is shaped by its UNESCO-listed canal ring, narrow streets and rows of gabled houses, while Jordaan brings galleries, boutiques and a more residential atmosphere into the mix. De Pijp feels livelier and more contemporary, with cafés, independent shops and the Albert Cuyp Market running through the neighbourhood. Cross the IJ and the scenery shifts again toward Amsterdam Noord’s industrial spaces and creative venues. Music, art and nightlife are a big part of the city year-round, so Halloween tends to appear through everything from outdoor puzzle games to warehouse events and parties on the water.
Rave To The Grave // Amsterdam Halloween Boat Party is scheduled for October 31, 2026, with the main event running from 10 PM until 2 AM. The boat departs from De Ruijterkade 14 behind Amsterdam Centraal Station, turning the waterfront into the starting point for a Halloween night built around DJs, theatrical performers, costumes and decorations spread across the vessel.
Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, with prizes planned for standout costumes. The onboard setup also includes a bar and Halloween-themed drinks.
The Amsterdam Murder Mystery starts at Vondelfontein in Vondelpark and is available from September 1 through December 1, 2026. Players use a smartphone to move through 12 locations within roughly two kilometres, gathering evidence, solving puzzles and working through a fictional murder case.
There is no fixed group departure time, so the experience can be started whenever convenient during its run. A typical game lasts up to two hours, and it is available in English, French, German and Spanish. Younger participants are recommended to play alongside an adult.
EAST Techno Collective - Halloween Warehouse takes over De Fik Garden, 19 Sportparklaan, on October 31, 2026, from 10 PM until 5 AM the following morning. EAST has been running parties in Amsterdam since 2019, and this edition gives its regular underground format a Halloween treatment.
