Glitter and Groove: an Excuse to Dress Up and Get Down

MsPixy presents a once-a-month opportunity to put on a cute outfit and dance your butt off. Glitter and Groove is a two-hour dance party held in a beautiful black-box burlesque theater.

Spin and swivel under stage lights in front of a mirrored wall. Wiggle your waistline center floor with plenty of room to groove and twirl. Take a break in the bleachers and enjoy a craft cocktail (alcoholic or non) from the Newport's fully stocked cash bar.

Attendance is limited to ensure room to groove. Guests are not required to dress to the theme, but attendees are awarded for awesome apparel.

Glitter and Groove is a safe space in which common courtesy and clear consent are required.

This queer-friendly event is open to all genders and celebrates dancers of all shapes, sizes, cultures, and levels of abilty/skill.

The Newport Theater is accessible by stairs only, but a private entrance with a stair lift is avaiable upon request.

MAR 5 Psychedelic Dream

Music Assorted pyschedelia from various eras
Suggested Attire Eye-bending patterns and mind-bending color combos. Mini skirts, maxi skirts, bell bottoms and poet sleeves. Flower crowns and braided belts. Peace beads.

APR 2 Classical Remix

Music Modern takes on classical music. Orchestral takes on pop music. Sick beats mixed with even sicker string sections. Probably at least one waltz.
Suggested Attire Period pieces mixed with contemporary comfort. Corsets with jeans. Powederd wigs and caftans. A whole-ass hoop skirt with a tube top. You do you, including as many past lives as you like.

APR 30 Retro Vibes

Music Music that sounds like it was written in the 1950's and 60's-- but it wasn't!
Suggested Attire Checkered jackets and saddle shoes, crinolines and cardigans, pocket protectors and pomade. As mid-century as you wanna be.

MAY 21 Cast Party!

Music Showtunes, baby! But we promise only dancable ones-- no patter songs or recitative.
Suggested Attire You've just come from The Big Show, and YOU played the lead! But of course you wouldn't wear your whole costume to the after-party. That would be so gauche. Instead, just grab a few of the best pieces and sneak out the stage door before the costume supervisor catches you. Maybe you managed to get all your makeup off-- or maybe you still want to look like a lion for a little while longer. We won't judge!

JUL 9 Fairies' Frolic

Music: Magical-sounding melodies to prance around to. A few thunderous tunes for stomping and sinister songs for spellcasting.
Suggested Attire: Forest fairy, swamp witch, garden gnome, dragonborn. Ethereal raiments and fae togs. Mithril.

AUG 27 Gamer's Delight

Music: Nerdcore, gamertunes, soundtracks, covers, parodies, and
Suggested Attire: Casual cosplay, full costumes, Utilikilts and utility belts. Tshirts and dice bags. LED anything. Shoes of Boogie Down [+2CHR,+3DXT].
