Dover Castle, often referred to as the "Key to England," has a rich history that spans over 2,000 years.

Located atop the White Cliffs of Dover, this medieval fortress has witnessed countless battles, sieges, and historical events, making it a focal point for tales of the supernatural. The White Lady, One of the most famous apparitions associated with Dover Castle is the White Lady, believed to be the spirit of a woman who roamed the castle grounds, clad in a flowing white gown. Some say she is the ghost of Lady Blanche, the wife of a former castle governor, who died under tragic circumstances. The Ghostly Soldiers, Various reports have emerged of spectral soldiers seen marching along the castle walls. These figures are thought to represent the many soldiers who defended the castle throughout its long history, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars and the World Wars. The Phantom Monk, Another notable ghost is that of a monk, often seen wandering through the castle's corridors. This apparition is believed to be linked to the castle's earlier history and its ties to religious institutions. Dover Castle's origins trace back to Roman times when it served as a fortification to protect the coast. In the 12th century, King Henry II transformed the castle into a stronghold, adding the great keep and other structures. Over the centuries, it played a crucial role during various conflicts, including the Hundred Years' War and the English Civil War. The castle's strategic importance continued through both World Wars, serving as a command centre and a hospital. After the wars, it was preserved as a historical site, attracting visitors and historians alike.
