Join us on our signature lantern-lit walk through the oldest streets of Cape May’s historic district to uncover Cape May's hidden legacy of pirate lore, Victorian society scandals, Prohibition hijinks and more, while learning how the spirits of those who called Cape May home then still have a presence now . . . in more ways than one.
Based on extensive research through hundreds of historical documents, our flagship Ghost Capers tour finds the mystery in history as we take a walk on the spooky side of Cape May's past with stories about eight of its supernatural hotspots including the Southern Mansion, the Inn of Cape May, and the Hotel Macomber.
On our stroll through the most atmospheric avenues of historic Cape May, you'll hear tales of pale apparitions, bumps in the night, and inexplicable activity along with the history of each building featured and our exclusive theories about which of its former inhabitants may be the cause of the current hauntings.
• Please wait to purchase tickets until you are sure that the weather will not impact your plans, especially if you are traveling from out of town or have health and/or mobility concerns.
• Tours proceed in the rain, so pack umbrellas and/or ponchos if rain is on the forecast.
• Cape May often experiences single-cell thunderstorms during summer evenings. These are storms that begin and end very quickly. (Click or tap here to read more about single-cell thunderstorms from NOAA).
• To keep customers safe, we make decisions regarding thunderstorms at the tour start time. IMPORTANT: Because these storms develop and end suddenly, we cannot provide advance cancellation notice for thunderstorms.
• If the National Weather Service issues a Severe Weather Warning that impacts a tour, that tour will be cancelled and all ticket holders will automatically receive full refunds, no further action required. IMPORTANT: A Severe Weather Watch is NOT the same as a Severe Weather Warning! Tours will not automatically be cancelled in the event of a Severe Weather Watch, only a Severe Weather Warning.
• IMPORTANT: If the tour proceeds as scheduled, ticket holders are not eligible for weather-related refunds (no exceptions).
• Our tour guide will be waiting at the tour meeting spot for 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled tour start time to check guests in, and will begin the tour promptly at the tour start time.
• To keep our tours running on time, we cannot wait for late arrivals.
• We cannot hold the tour in place for guests who leave after checking in for any reason, including to park or find a restroom.
• Because the time spent at each stop on the tour is variable, we also cannot have guests join us at a later point on the tour.
• Ticket holders are responsible for making sure that they find the meeting spot and parking if necessary before the tour start time. This information will be included with your ticket.
• Ticket holders who miss their tour due to arriving late are not eligible to request a refund. Please scroll down to Transfers and Refunds for our full refund policy.
• Like most live entertainment event providers, we have a limited refund policy. Please read the policy below, along with all of our policies and the information on our page, to understand what to expect before booking:
• Ticket holders may submit a refund request through Eventbrite, our ticket sales platform, up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour start time to receive an automatic refund for any reason, minus Eventbrite's fees, which are nonrefundable.
• Ticket holders who wish to change their tickets for another date, time, or tour must request a refund on their current tickets 24 hours prior to their scheduled tour start time and purchase new tickets for their preferred date, time, or tour. Eventbrite's fees on the originally-purchased tickets are nonrefundable so please select your date, time, and tour carefully.
• No refunds will be granted with less than 24 hours' notice.
• IMPORTANT: No exceptions to our refund policy will be made in the event of customer error, including purchasing tickets for the wrong date or time. Please double-check the date and time for which you are purchasing tickets BEFORE checking out.
• We aim to be as accurate as possible when providing details of what to expect on our tours and cannot issue refunds to guests whose expectations or desired experience of the tour differ from the information we provide ahead of booking. This includes:
• In the rare, unforeseen event that the tour must be cancelled for any reason other than weather, ticket holders will be notified via email as soon as possible and will receive automatic refunds, no further action required.
• Service animals needed for accessibility are welcome on our tours, but we cannot accommodate pets.
• We do appreciate advance notice if you are bringing a service animal so we can mark your party as exempt from our pet policy, though this is not required.
• If you are unsure as to whether your animal qualifies as a service animal, please see the Americans with Disabilities Act publication ADA Requirements: Service Animals.
• For the health and comfort of all tour guests, we ask that tour guests refrain from smoking, vaping, or otherwise using tobacco and/or marijuana during the tour and while waiting for the tour to start at the tour meeting place.
• Tour guests must remain on public sidewalks at all times.
• To keep the sidewalks and streets as clear as possible, tour participants may not bring bicycles or other recreational vehicles on the tour.
• Out of courtesy for Cape May's residents and visitors, we ask that tour guests refrain from littering, shouting, trespassing, or otherwise causing a disturbance while on our tours.
