Gettysburg Halloween Parade 2024

The Gettysburg Halloween Parade is an annual parade held on Main Street in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This year's parade is scheduled to take place on October 22nd, 2024. It is organized by Main Street Gettysburg Inc., a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and preserving the downtown area. The parade features costumed floats, marching bands, and other spooky-themed performances. It's a popular attraction that draws thousands of visitors to Gettysburg annually.  

Parade Route:

The parade will begin at Gettysburg Middle School and Lincoln Elementary, which serve as the starting point for this festive event. The official kick-off time is approximately 7:15 PM. The parade route will proceed down York Street onto Lincoln Square, where judging will occur at the HD Entertainment grandstand. From there, it will continue down Baltimore Street before turning onto Lefever Street and ending in the staging area.

In addition to the main parade, there will be several pre-parade activities:

1. A dance party on the square starting at 5:30 PM
2. A costume contest at 6:00 PM
3. Registration for these events will be open from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM

The parade features various categories for participation, including:

• Bands
• Floats
• Marching/walking groups
• Dance/performing groups
• Vintage cars

Cash prizes are awarded in these and other categories, adding a competitive element to the festivities.
