A few blocks down the same street stands the Hangman's Building, where the Montana Vigilantes hanged five of Henry Plummer's road agents from a roof beam on a single winter night in January 1864. The Fairweather Inn, with its child spirits on the first floor, its rustling footsteps on the second, and its notorious Room 10, has earned its reputation as one of the most haunted buildings in the American West.
