You've all seen the Broom dance that came out of Germany in 2016? This song, Shuttel deinen speck, sung by Peter Fox, went viral online. This sparked a worldwide global dance movement where groups and flashmobs imitate the routine for Spring and Halloween celebrations!
This is a fun, silly and flirtatious dance; Some of you may have seen the dance troupe, The Jewels of the Yuba perform this at the KVMR Celtic fest? If so, you know it's fun! And here's your opportunity to join us!
You can see the full show video from May 4 on the Sidhe of the Glen Facebook page. The broom dance happens about 19:14. We will try to video this dance in the daylight so everyone can see what's going on and it will be easier to learn.
The plan is to gather at 7pm and dance around 7:15? in front of the Del Oro theatre and then again later at the other end of Mill Street.
Both Women and Men are invited to join us and you must have a broom and hat....the other parts of the costume are up to you!
And that said, you don't need to do the dance, just show up in costume and support the ones who are swinging a broom!
