A folk ballad brought to life in glowing orchestral colours: a tale of love, betrayal, murder, and magical resurrection. Dvořák’s score guides us from pastoral beauty into grisly horror, before justice is restored by the golden spinning wheel itself.
Bartók – Bluebeard’s Castle
One of the 20th century’s greatest operatic masterpieces. Judith unlocks the seven forbidden doors of Bluebeard’s mysterious castle—revealing armoury, treasure, gardens, a lake of tears, and finally, the darkest truth of all. A chilling psychological drama, told through music that is both sumptuous and terrifying.
