We're so excited to be returning to Beer Quarry Caves this August - and honestly, every time we come back here, it delivers something new.These incredible underground caverns have been carved out of the earth for over 2,000 years. The Romans were among the first to work them. The stone pulled from these walls went on to build 24 cathedrals, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and Windsor Castle. In the 1750s, an explosion in the tunnels killed around 47 quarrymen. During the Reformation, persecuted Catholics held secret masses in the hidden depths. Layer upon layer of human history, all of it underground, all of it in the dark.
Visitors regularly report seeing a young boy in ripped trousers in one specific area of the cave system. A monk has been seen in the old secret chapel. Unexplained sounds echo through the tunnels with no obvious source. It's one of those places that doesn't need any embellishment - you feel it the moment you step inside.
On this night, we'll be running a full Ghostly Nights investigation. Small groups, structured vigils, modern equipment and traditional methods in some of the most atmospheric underground spaces in the South West. No theatrics. No jump scares. Just genuine investigation in a truly extraordinary location.
