Finale of our celebration of David Lynch — a character costume ball w/ live performance by I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA & The Nightingales + More!About this Event
As the finale of NIGHT BLOOMING JASMINE, our month--long celebration of David Lynch, 7th House is gonna go out with a blowout — everybody, LET’S ROCK!: A LYNCHIAN COSTUME BALL, featuring a live set by Julee Cruise tribute band I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA AND THE NIGHTINGALES and dance party led by DJ Vashti!
Perhaps no artist has ever imbued their work with such darkness, mystery, wonder, beauty, and humor; Lynch was a consummate creator whose journeys into the far reaches of imagination and consciousness have left an indelible and eternal mark on the world. He was a master of crafting not only his own unique worlds, but his own unique realities – inhabited by characters sprung from his singular imagination, characters who could only exist in the Lynchverse. For this very special event, we invite you to join us in celebrating Lynch and his vast and singular roster of characters by dressing up as your favorite/the most obscure/the most iconic! (Of course, costumes are encouraged but not required!)
The PRS auditorium will be transformed into a dancefloor as we’ll be transported by an ethereal live performance by Julee Cruise (the Twin Peaks chanteuse) tribute supergroup I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA and the Nightingales! After their sure-to-be unforgettable set, we’ll host a costume contest with prizes in 4 categories:
- Best Iconic Character
- Best Obscure Character
- Best Couples Costume
- Best David Lynch (or Gordon Cole!)
Afterward we’ll hit the floor for a David Lynch inspired set by DJ Vashti!
Do not miss this very special evening, a jubilant celebration of the one and only master of “dark, deep darkness and splendor” — the great David Lynch!
Tickets: $20 (All Screenings Are In-Person Only)

I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA and the Nightingales
I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA and the Nightingales
When tasked with producing an event at Gold-Diggers in early 2025, I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA, a.k.a. Vanessa Rae Robinson, immediately pushed the idea of a DJ night out of her mind. She loves a good party, but wanted to gift a different kind of experience.
Vanessa Rae caught an idea she loved on a beautiful day and rolled with it: a Twin Peaks night, featuring a Julee Cruise tribute band, something she’d always wanted to do, but had never pushed herself to pursue.
To form I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA and the Nightingales, she brought in her favorite LA musicians, all of whom share her love and reverence for David Lynch: former bandmate Delano Duran (Warfield, Sacred Skin), Gregg Foreman (Cat Power, Warfield, Lydia Lunch), Margot Rhodes (Mirrors of Venus, Madeline Goldstein), and Alex Lasner (Day Wave).
Little did they know David Lynch would be gone by January 15th, 2025, eight days before their first set together, while the Eaton and Palisades still burned.
I CANT HEAR CASSANDRA and the Nightingales perform in memoriam of David Lynch, carrying his vision forward and proving that even in absence, his work continues to speak.
