Best Ways To Celebrate Halloween  2026 In Perth | Parades, Ghost Tours & More

Perth has a laid-back pace that comes from being wrapped around the Swan River and close to some of Western Australia’s best-known coastline. Elizabeth Quay puts the city right on the water, while Northbridge carries much of Perth’s arts, food and live-entertainment energy. The Perth Cultural Centre brings together the Art Gallery of Western Australia, WA Museum Boola Bardip and several performance spaces in one compact precinct. Kings Park adds a huge stretch of greenery overlooking the city and river. By October, Perth’s spring weather also makes outdoor games, river cruises and evening events particularly easy to work into the Halloween calendar.

1. Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics

The Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics comes to Perth Town Hall on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The concert begins at 6:30 PM, with a 60-minute performance staged under Candlelight’s signature candlelit setup. The Aquila String Quartet performs the program on violin, viola and cello.

The music moves between classical pieces and familiar screen themes, including Danse Macabre, Night on Bald Mountain, music from Halloween, Beetlejuice, The Addams Family and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Guests need to be at least eight years old, and anyone under 16 must attend with an adult.

2. Halloween Hop!

The Halloween Hop! gives Perth Swing Dance Academy’s regular social dance a Halloween makeover at Tivoli Theatre Applecross on October 31, 2026, from 8 PM to 10 PM. The floor is open to several styles of swing, including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag and Balboa, with Halloween-themed music from local DJs.

Costumes are encouraged, and prizes are planned for some of the best-dressed dancers. Beginners are welcome alongside more experienced dancers, so the evening isn’t limited to people already familiar with the local swing scene.

3. Perth Murder Mystery: Death in the Shadows

The Perth Murder Mystery: Death in the Shadows begins around the Art Gallery of Western Australia and is available from October 1 through December 1, 2026. Players use their phones to move through 12 locations around central Perth, collecting clues and gradually piecing together a fictional murder case.

There is no fixed guided group to keep up with. The mystery can be played at a chosen time and takes up to about two hours, which makes it more like an outdoor detective game than a conventional staged Halloween attraction.

4. R&B Halloween Special Boat Party

The R&B Halloween Special Boat Party departs from Mends Street Jetty in South Perth on October 31, 2026. Boarding begins at noon, the boat leaves at 12:15 PM, and the cruise returns at around 4 PM. Music focuses on 1990s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop, with costumes strongly encouraged for the Halloween edition.

The cruise travels along the river with food available onboard and a resident DJ handling the music throughout the afternoon.

5. After Dark Ghost Hunt in Perth: Face Your Fright!

The After Dark Ghost Hunt in Perth: Face Your Fright! starts around 101 Melbourne Street in Northbridge and runs between October 1 and December 1, 2026. Armed with a smartphone, players search for 10 fictional ghosts spread across roughly a one-mile area while solving puzzles and gathering clues.

A typical game lasts about 90 minutes, though there is no need to rush through it. The experience is available in English, French, German and Spanish, and all ages can participate; children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.
