Children can join a professional Artist in her studio this Easter, and learn how to block print and accessorise their own cotton tote bag!About this Event
Morgan Martin is opening her studio over the Easter holidays to children who are interested in art and textiles. She is running workshops that will give young people the chance to learn about block printing techniques and hand stitch sewing through a three hour design workshop. This will result in the making of a bespoke tote bag that they can take home at the end of the day.
The children will work with specialist blocks sourced from Jaipur and learn about pattern making. They will experience the feel of a design studio with a professional print designer, whilst engaging with other children in a safe and creative environment.
Parents can drop their child at Craft Central for10:45 and the session will begin at 11:00. Children should come with a drink, packed lunch and a snack. The workshop will finish at 15:00 which is when parents can come and collect them. Recommendation for children to wear old clothes as they will be using paint.
