Get ready to gourd-geously stitch your way into fall with our "Stitch-o'-Lantern" embroidery class! This workshop is perfect for both beginner and experienced stitchers who want to add a little pumpkin spice to their crafting. You'll learn how to transform a humble patch into a vibrant, textile pumpkin, ripe for wearing or decorating.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this class, you'll be able to:

• Pumpkin-ize Your Process: Master the fundamentals of digitizing a drawing to create a charming pumpkin design. Our Lab uses Floriani Fusion to make professional-quality stitch files! We'll cover stitches like the satin stitch for smooth surfaces (no "patchy" work here!) and the steil stitch for delightful details.
• Gourd Guidance on Color: Explore color theory as it applies to embroidery, choosing threads that make your pumpkin pop, and capturing the essence of autumn hues. You'll be a "thread-setter" in no time!
• Patch Up Your Portfolio: Complete a finished pumpkin-shaped embroidery patch, ready to be ironed on, sewn onto a bag, or displayed as a mini masterpiece.
• Embroider Your Enthusiasm: Gain confidence in your embroidery skills and leave with a "sew-veneer" of a fun and seasonal creative experience, ready to tackle your next stitching adventure!

Extra materials needed: polytwill, stabilizer, and thread- est $5.00 per person.

Instructor: Anna Morse

Instructor's Bio: Anna is a makerspace member who is passionate about illustration and all things Textiles Lab who joined the space in no small part because of the embroidery machine. They enjoy combining their love of textiles with digital illustration to create cool stuff. When they aren't doing machine embroidery, you can still probably find them in the Textiles Lab- spinning, sewing, or drafting patterns.

For ages 12 and up (waiver needed for minors at time of attendance).
