It's getting nearer that time of year...👻🎃
Introducing Spooky Strongman! Our Halloween-themed competition aimed at novice/inters level athletes. Fancy dress encouraged and the events will be awkward and unusual. It's going to be a blast. Anyone can enter, and trust us, the events will be tougher than the weights might seem. 👀
Max Zercher Deadlift. Deadlift a barbell up into your lap and adjust into the Zercher position to finish squatting the weight up! We'll have a video up soon showcasing how all these events will work. 3 attempts, powerlifting style. You'll have 60s per attempt for a successful lift.
Lumberjack Carry. Athletes will need to carry a single farmers handle and a shouldered sandbag down a 15m course simultaneously. Once breaking the line at the end, they will turn around, pick up the equipment on the opposite side to their first run and carry them back. Fastest wins, 60s time limit.
Axle Press. 'Til you Drop! Athletes will clean an axle up to their front rack and begin pressing away. Most reps wins. The catch... Once it's off the floor, it can never hit the ground again, or your event is over! A bonus rep will be given to any athlete who can last the full 60s time limit without returning the axle to the floor.
Chain Yoke into Dead Body Drag. Athletes will take an axle, loaded with weights dangling from chains, off a squat rack and down a 15m course before loading it onto another squat rack. They will then drag a "dead body" back down the 15m course. Fastest wins. 60s time limit.
Atlas Stone Eliminator. One of our best events is returning, and we're super excited for it! Athletes will go round-robin style, having 15s each to load an atlas stone up and over a yoke (44" for women, 48" for men). If a round ends and all athletes have successfully lifted the stone, we will move up in weight. If one or more athletes fail the stone, they will be out and the remaining athletes will repeat the same stone for the next round. If all remaining athletes are eliminated on the same round, we will drop the stone weight and go until we have a last person standing!
