About this Event
About this Event
Step into the dark and experience the timeless thrills of cinematic horror! Silver Screen Screams brings classic chillers back to life, tracing the evolution of movie monsters, suspense, and terror through three legendary masterpieces. Whether you are revisiting these iconic films or seeing them for the first time, join fellow movie lovers for an unforgettable journey through the golden ages of horror.
Edited to Add: The 10/3 and 10/10 events in this series had to be canceled due to a branch closure. We will be closed 10/3-10/10 for interior painting. At the 10/17 screening, we will give attendees the opportunity to choose one of the three movies we had initially planned.
Featured Films:
- Saturday, Oct. 3: The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) Mary Shelley’s monster returns in James Whale’s cinematic masterpiece. Blending atmospheric horror with tragic humanity and dark humor, this Gothic classic introduces one of the most iconic figures in film history.
- Saturday, Oct. 10: The Birds (1963) Alfred Hitchcock turns nature itself into pure terror in this harrowing suspense classic. Set in a quiet California coastal town, quiet tension quickly escalates into relentless, unexplained panic as avian chaos strikes.
- Saturday, Oct. 17: Night of the Living Dead (1968) George A. Romero’s groundbreaking, low-budget indie masterpiece redefined the horror genre forever. Atmospheric, tense, and biting, this revolutionary film trapped a group of strangers in a farmhouse while dead flesh-eaters closed in.
Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided!
