A Samhain (ancient pagan harvest ritual) Voice Ritual for Sirens of all genders
About this Event

The veil between worlds is thinning. Do you hear the call of your ancestral sirens? They sing to you, you can’t resist their voices. You must follow, and in this ancient pagan ancestral ritual known as Samhain (pronounced sow-win) you will visit the land of the dead, listen deeply, and be reborn in your most authentic voice.

Reclaim your voice as a tool for transformation.

Sing from the depths of your ocean.

Express your truest desires. Vocalize with eros from the divine feminine within, as your ancestors perhaps couldn’t.

This Full Moon Siren Circle is open to all genders.

Come explore your embodied expression in this evening of somatic and vocal exploration and experimentation. In this ceremony, we will welcome the four elements of nature with body and breathing warm-ups. We will dance down, down, down to the land of the dead and learn what our ancestors want us to know, using Somatic Vocal Healing, and connection with the inner sounds of our truest desires, and the divinatory nature of our inner voices, collectively and individually. From this place of sacred ancestral intuition, we will literally call in our intentions for the winter season, as we weave a shared altar and sacred song of prayer and power.

Preparation

Please be prepared to share one short sentence or 3-5 words to describe your Samhain intention.

Bring a water bottle, wear clothes for movement and dance, bring an object for the altar (that you will bring back home with you) and please arrive on time. You may also bring a journal, but not required. The doors will close promptly and the ritual will begin at 4:30pm.

Snacks and N/A drinks will be provided when the ritual ends. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Mela Closs

Mela is a Voice Ritualist and Musician creating playful experiences grounded in imagination and healing. She uses voice and ritual as tools for transformation, healing, and empowerment. With a background in music and theatre education (Emerson College, Orff-Shuelwerk, Theatre of the Oppressed Joker Training), as well as Somatic Vocal Healing practitioner certification from SongDance, she uses movement, singing, somatic sounding, and breathing techniques to connect to the body, emotions, desires, energy channels and ancestors. With the co-creation of sacred space and ceremony, voice sessions become a channel of shifting energy, patterns, and opening new pathways to grow. As a musician, she explores themes of spirituality, oceanic worlds, connection, and sovereignty in solo ambient experimental music-performance projects (Be The Ocean, Ocean of Eros, Siren Song). She also sings ambient drone-heavy dramatic soundscapes and playful vocals in Zelenaya, an Eastern-European folk metal project. She loves creating community events that are grassroots, spiritual, intimate, and joy-centered.
