Using this festival that marks both the end and the beginning of something to celebrate, grieve and honour the past, release the old and make space for the oncoming new.Our ceremony for this will give offerings of our past to give breath to the future.
Come with words, objects, photos or just thoughts, we will tie them to one of the Cumberlands old fruit trees and bear witness to the opportunity to let go.
There will be labels to write words on and ribbons for those who cannot form the words.
At the end of this day the tree adornment will be taken down and stored until 12pm on November 5th when these things will be burned and the ashes scattered on the Cumberland Meadow area
Also available from the 1st - 5th will be a box for any words, objects, ribbons to go in, for those that cannot make the tree ceremony but still want to take part. These things will also go on the fire on the 5th
NB if you do not want your things to be burned, we get it, totally and absolutely, take your stuff away by 4pm on the 1st
NNB If you have put something on the tree/in the box that is not safe to burn, these things will be removed and disposed of safely, they will replaced by a label that has the object written on it.
