The City of Portland wants you to get home safely from your New Year's Eve celebrations. PBOT is partnering with taxis, transportation network companies (like Lyft and Uber), the Portland Police Bureau, and bar owners to offer reduced-cost rides this New Years Eve to prevent people driving under the influence. A limited number of coupons will be available for discounted rides in a taxi, Uber, or Lyft.
Safe Ride Home coupons are valid in Portland between 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023, and 4:00 am on Monday, January 1st, 2024. Rides must start in the City of Portland.
To get $5 off an Uber or Lyft ride in Portland, simply use the promo code posted on the Safe Ride Home Website on Dec. 31: https://www.portland.gov/transportation/regulatory/events/2023/12/31/safe-ride-home-new-years-eve-2023
Paper coupons for up to $10 of a taxi trip will be available at over 40 locations in Portland where people may be celebrating the New Year. Look for posters when you are out, then ask staff for a coupon.
