About this Event

WELL you are in luck! Join us for an extra special Halloween edition of Queen Out Open Mic Comedy! Costumes encouraged (but not mandatory), cuz why not?

Sign up starts at 6 pm, with sign up on a first come, first serve basis. The show starts promptly at 6 30 pm, and will run to approximately 8 30 pm (depending on the number of sign ups).

This mic is open to anyone that identifies as a woman, fem, and / or member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Sorry cis het dude comics - this one's not for you.

You are welcome to perform, attend as an audience member to support fem and queer comedy, or both!!

The fine print:

5 minute sets, "warning light" at 4 minutes
Free to attend with no purchase required, BUT feel free to tip your host, and please support the amazing venue if you can. There are a range of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages for purchase as well as light food
The venue is fully accessible for mobility aid users including communal and single stall gender neutral washrooms at-grade
All ages welcome but parental / guardian company is recommended for younger performers
All are welcome to watch / support this event, including cisgender heterosexual men, but performance spaces are open only to fem and / or queer folx
We will do our best to get everyone up who wants to perform, but we also need to be out of the venue before our allotted time ends and want to keep the show length manageable and pleasant. This means we may have to cap or limit the list and / or reduce set times if we have more perfomers than expected. Please arrive as early as possible to maximize your chances of getting on.
Community guidelines are in place for this show and will be discussed at the top. This includes no "punching down", no "isms" or phobias, and no aggressive crowd work. This mic is hosted and produced by a queer, nonbinary comedian who takes this seriously AF, and who is committed to keeping the vibes cute and inclusive. If content of a performance isn't aligned with the guidelines, the set will be ended early.
We all want a sexy, healthy time! You are totally welcome to wear a mask. If you are feeling sick, please stay home!

Questions? Want to come out but are a lil nervous? Totally feel free to reach out to the producer Anna Sebastien on Instagram at @annasebastiencomedy - its all about community!
