Pumpkin Pickin’ Train to SeaLyon Farm
All aboard for one of Maine’s most unique fall adventures! Ride a historic narrow gauge steam train through the brilliant autumn scenery of the Sheepscot Valley, then continue by wagon to SeaLyon Farm for pumpkin picking, farm-fresh food, horse-drawn wagon rides and plenty of harvest-time fun.
Your adventure begins at the WW&F Railway Museum in Alna, Maine, where you’ll board the Pumpkin Pickin’ Train at Sheepscot Station. Settle in for an old-fashioned steam train ride through forests, fields and rural Maine countryside dressed in spectacular fall foliage. At Top of Mountain station, leave the train behind and transfer to a wagon for the short ride to nearby SeaLyon Farm and its pumpkin patch.
Once at the farm, head into the patch and choose your own perfect pumpkin to purchase. Spend your visit exploring the farm and enjoying activities that may include horse-drawn wagon rides, local food vendors, Maine-made beer and cider, farm products, lawn games, pumpkin bowling, a bonfire for making s’mores, visits with the farm’s goats, and beautiful views of the surrounding fields and pond.
Choose either a 30-minute or 90-minute farm layover before boarding the wagon back to the railway and catching your steam train back to Sheepscot. Depending upon the option selected, the complete experience lasts approximately 2 hours 40 minutes or 3 hours 40 minutes.
Your ticket includes the historic steam train ride, wagon transportation between the railway and SeaLyon Farm, horse-drawn wagon rides at the farm, and parking at Sheepscot Station. Pumpkins, food, beverages and other farm products are available separately.
