✨ Once upon a time… there was a farm.
There were pumpkins in the fields, animals in the pastures and children running through the grass.
But if you looked closely enough, you might notice something else.
A tiny door appeared at the bottom of a tree.
A gnome was spotted hiding beneath a mushroom.
Someone found a dragon egg.
And we’re fairly certain the pixies have moved in.
For one enchanted weekend, the Applegate Farms Pumpkin Patch is transforming into a place where fairy tales, imagination and farm life come together.

✨ ONCE UPON AN APPLEGATE ✨
Our second weekend of the 2026 Applegate Farms Pumpkin Patch season is dedicated to fairies, pixies, gnomes, princesses, princes, knights, dragons, magical creatures and everyone who still believes there might be a little magic hiding in the woods.
👑 COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED!
This is the weekend to let the kids dress up.
Come as a:
👑 Princess or Prince
⚔️ Knight
🧚 Fairy or Pixie
🍄 Gnome
🐉 Dragon
🧝 Elf
🦄 Unicorn
🌿 Woodland Creature
📖 Storybook Character
And grown-ups are absolutely allowed to play along.
In fact, we strongly encourage it. ❤️
🧚♀️🏡 BRING A PIXIE HOUSE TO APPLEGATE!
This may be our favorite part of the entire weekend.
Before you come to the farm, gather the kids and build a tiny house for a fairy, pixie or gnome.
It doesn’t have to be fancy.
Use:
🪵 Twigs
🍂 Bark
🌰 Acorns
🌲 Pinecones
🪨 Pebbles
🌿 Moss
🍄 Natural materials
🏠 An old birdhouse
🎨 Craft supplies
…or whatever your imagination comes up with!
Make it tiny.
Make it enormous.
Make it beautiful.
Make it ridiculous.
There is no wrong way to build a pixie house.
Then bring your creation to Applegate during Once Upon an Applegate Weekend.
Children will get to choose a special place on the farm and leave their house behind for the Applegate pixies, fairies and gnomes.
But here’s what makes this different from an ordinary weekend craft:
🍄 WE’RE KEEPING THEM.
As Applegate grows, we plan to create a permanent:
🧚♀️ THE APPLEGATE PIXIE TRAIL 🧚♂️
The little houses families bring during our first season will eventually be moved to a permanent hiking trail through the farm.
Over the years, new houses will join them.
The village will grow.
Trails will wind between them.
And children will be able to come back to Applegate and search for the little house they built years before.
Imagine walking the trail someday and hearing:
“MOM! THERE’S MINE!”

The houses brought in 2026 will be the original houses from the very first Applegate Pumpkin Patch season.
We hope this becomes an Applegate tradition for many years to come.
🗺️👑 THE APPLEGATE ROYAL QUEST
Every good fairy tale needs a quest.
Young adventurers will be invited to travel around the farm completing challenges and searching for magical objects.
Keep your eyes open for things like:
🐉 A hidden dragon egg
🍎 The Golden Apple
🧚 A secret fairy door
🍄 A mischievous gnome
👑 A missing crown
🗡️ The Sword in the Stone
✨ Hidden pixies
🌿 Magical creatures
Complete the Royal Quest and earn recognition from the Kingdom of Applegate!
🗡️ PULL THE SWORD FROM THE STONE
Somewhere at Applegate sits a legendary sword.
Many have tried.
Few have succeeded.
Do YOU have what it takes?
We’ll have a special Sword in the Stone photo and challenge area where our smallest knights can test their strength.
🐉 THE DRAGON’S NEST
Somewhere on the farm, a dragon has been here.
We’ve seen the evidence.
Children can search for the nest, discover dragon eggs and perhaps even find a few clues about what kind of creature left them behind.
🧚♀️ FAIRY & GNOME HUNT
Fairies and gnomes aren’t particularly good at following instructions.
They’ve apparently scattered themselves throughout the farm.
Find as many as you can while exploring the Pumpkin Patch!
👑 SPECIAL GUESTS
We’re working to invite some magical visitors to Applegate for the weekend.
We’re hoping to have appearances from characters such as:
👑 Princesses
🧚 Fairies
⚔️ Knights
🍄 Gnomes
🧙 Fantasy characters
📖 Storytellers
We’d also love to welcome medieval reenactors, fantasy performers and other local groups who would enjoy becoming part of our enchanted kingdom.
Special guest schedules will be announced as they’re confirmed.
🎨 THE ENCHANTED CRAFT STATION
This weekend’s craft area is all about imagination.
Children can choose from themed projects such as:
🧚 Create a Fairy Wand
or
🛡️ Decorate a Knight’s Shield
We may also have crowns, fairy accessories and other magical projects available throughout the weekend.
Some premium crafts may require an additional ticket.
📖 STORYTIME ON THE FARM
Throughout the weekend, we’ll have opportunities to settle down for a story.
Some may be familiar fairy tales.
Some may be stories about magical creatures.
And some may come from right here at Applegate.
Find a spot, grab a snack and let somebody else do the imagining for a little while.

Then we’ll take a short intermission.

Friday’s second feature is intended for mature audiences.
Please review the film’s rating and content before deciding whether it’s appropriate for younger members of your family.
And yes, watching a horror movie outside on a farm after dark is exactly as creepy as it sounds. 😂

Spend Saturday exploring the enchanted farm, grab dinner from concessions and then settle in for a wonderfully strange Saturday night under the stars.
🎟️ MOVIES ARE SEPARATE ADMISSION
Movie admission is NOT included with Pumpkin Patch admission, the Adventure Pass or activity tickets.
Visitors can enjoy the daytime festival without attending a movie, stay for the movie after their day at the farm, or come specifically for movie night.
Movie ticket pricing and purchasing information will be announced separately.
🍿 Concessions will remain open during movie nights.

We plan to offer several ways to experience Applegate so families can choose what works for them.
Options will include:

The Adventure Pass is planned to include many activities such as the giant hill slide, apple slingshot, putt-putt, obstacle course, regular hayride, themed craft and bounce houses, along with general farm experiences.

✨ WHY THIS WEEKEND MATTERS TO US
This is our first year.
There isn’t an old Applegate Pixie Trail yet.
There aren’t hundreds of tiny houses hiding in our woods.
There aren’t children returning to search for the fairy house they built five years ago.
But there could be.
Traditions have to start somewhere.
So this year, we’re asking children to bring us those first tiny houses.
We’re asking families to dress up.
We’re asking kids to believe in dragons for an afternoon.
We’re asking grown-ups to play along.
And we’re going to see what happens when hundreds of little imaginations are turned loose on a farm.
Maybe someday the Applegate Pixie Trail will contain hundreds—or thousands—of tiny houses.
And when someone asks how it all started, we’ll know:
