Magic Presents: All Leylines' Eve is a Halloween-themed Magic: The Gathering event built around starting games with "Leyline" effects in play.
Core Concept & Event Setup
The "Leylines" Theme: Borrowing from classic Magic Leyline cards (such as Leyline of Sanctity, Leyline of the Void, or Leyline of Anticipation), the event introduces special house rules or emblem effects that start active before the first turn begins.
Pre-Game Effects: At the start of each game, players either draw from a special "Leyline Deck" of emblems, choose a Leyline effect, or receive store-designated emblem modifiers that alter the field (e.g., granting graveyard exile, free spell casting conditions, flash to nonland cards, or continuous global buffs).
Format: Typically run as a Chaos Draft, or Casual Constructed event timed around late October / Halloween season.
Common House Rules & Gameplay Mechanics
Emblem Selection / Drafting: Before taking opening hands, each player draws or drafts 1–2 Leyline emblems.
Zero-Cost In-Play: The chosen Leyline effect begins the game directly on the battlefield/command zone for free, without needing to be in your opening hand.
