This season begats the ultimate mashup of Year of the Rabbit, Animalia and Easter with a Last Supper celebration serving up our Lord and Savior as the main course for this infamous, absurdist spring bacchanal.

THEME

At every Horned Ball all forms of horned creativity are encouraged. To play along with this year's theme, lean into Burning Man's 2023 "Animalia" theme as a Horny Hare or other fantastical creature with extra points for americana kitsch, bad taxidermy (fake or ethically sourced) or twisted biblical... Jackalopes spring forth from 1930's Wyoming as horned jackrabbits with a taste for whiskey and haunting singing voices spawning an industry of taxidermied jackalope trophies, "official" hunting licenses and many roadside attractions. Our "JaKKalope"  weaves a much taller tale where, some will say, Jesus's body did not miraculously vanish from his cave but was instead served up as the main course at his actual "last supper" by a secret society of fabulous furries. To be reenacted this Easter.

ABOUT HORNED BALL & KOSTUME KULT

Horned Ball is the longest running event of Kostume Kult (Costume Cultural Society), a non-profit arts org supporting costume art, street theater and big fun while bringing wonderful people together. Horned Ball #19 is a fantastical springtime event and Burning Man project fundraiser where the animals shake off winter slumber with much art, interactive activities, DJs and dancing in multiple rooms. All KK events are participatory theater where the guests are the players and where we take any artistic license that makes things more fun or ridiculous.
