join us at the root kava co. for a halloween themed writing workshop, followed by a spooky open mic! workshop from 4pm-630pm; open mic @ 7!About this Event
do you want to channel your inner edgar allen poe or shirley jackson? what about the king of modern horror stephen king? then come to the root kava collective at 4pm on monday for a special one-time halloween-themed writing workshop!
workshop will feature an opening circle and check-in, followed by several readings and discussions of what makes something "spooky," and two separate writing prompts to help you get the creative wheels turning! learn how to mine your personal experience and emotional landscape to explore both the spooky and the literary, and come away with new writing and enough ideas to last you until your stash of halloween candy runs out.
just want a place to share your spooky offerings? come join for the open mic at 7pm! want to attend our spooky mic but don't have anything to read? why not come to workshop and get yourself a new draft to test out by the time mic rolls around at 7?
(one drink minimum for all attendees)
