Through a carefully curated selection of works by emerging and established filmmakers, the programme offers audiences a unique opportunity to discover compelling stories, innovative perspectives and distinctive artistic voices that reflect the cultural and social realities of Mexico today.
This collaboration reinforces the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting cultural exchange and strengthening ties between Mexico, Spain and the UK through the arts. By showcasing the short film format, the series highlights a vibrant space for experimentation and storytelling, inviting audiences to engage with new narratives and gain a deeper appreciation of Mexico’s dynamic audiovisual landscape.

En el pueblo de Mixquic un hombre narra la experiencia de su
madre al tratar de cruzar infructuosamente el río de la muerte y
su inesperada vuelta a la vida.
En un pueblo del México rural, una familia es destruida por artes de brujería; tras la muerte de la madre, comienza a develarse el oscuro secreto del origen del mal.
Tras ser mordida por un perro con rabia, Clara pasa 40 días de
encierro en la pequeña cabaña donde vive con su madre y su
marido. Mientras el pueblo es azotado por una jauría de perros
salvajes, el deseo de libertad en Clara crece ante la reclusión. Para
salir, tendrá que enfrentar el miedo y la obsesión de su familia por
protegerla.
