Throughout history, queer representation and identity has been embraced through art, self-expression, and building community. Baltimore is one of many places that owes much of its identity and charm to the queer communities that made the city home. MCHC presents a Halloween special evening program that explores the representation of queer identity through history, with a spooky twist!Local scholar May Santiago, adjunct professor of film studies at George Mason University and producer of the podcast Horrorspiria, explores the influence and depiction of queerness within horror films and media, and how queer authors and audiences are reclaiming the concepts, imagery, and art that created the basis of the horror genre. Refreshments will be provided.
Museum admission is free all day on Free First Thursday.
