What's new with Haunted Tours at the Museum 2026?
Join us for three exciting nights of tours as we bring back Sunday tours by popular demand! This year we will be offering the tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on October 16th, 17th, and 18th!
For those who have never visited the museum for haunted tours, there's a spectacularly scary experience waiting you. Capacity is limited to 15 persons per tour this year. One-hour walking tours of the museum's campus begin on the hour at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. The majority of the tour is held inside (and in the A/C) so the event happens rain or shine.
Bring your own ghost hunting equipment, or use ours to conduct your paranormal investigation as we track the ghosts through our halls and relay the strange phenomena which have taken place within our walls! Your ghostly guide, dressed in appropriate costumed garb, will share with you spine tingling stories of the unexplained things that have happened at the museum in both the distant and recent past.
For months, museum staff and volunteers have reported strange activity surrounding the Museum of Seminole County History’s special 2026 Semiquincentennial exhibit. Unexplained footsteps echo through the Temporary Exhibit Gallery long after closing. Could the spirit of a long-dead 19th century preservationist have been angered by the changes made during a day of filming that took place at the museum for a USA 250 documentary project? During Haunted Tours at the Museum 2026, guests will hear chilling stories inspired by reported paranormal encounters connected to Seminole County’s colonial past, mysterious museum legends, and unexplained events witnessed by staff, volunteers, and visitors alike. Join us… if you dare… for three spine-tingling nights exploring the shadows, secrets, and spirits said to linger on the museum grounds.
On the tour, you might possibly encounter a spirit of an indigenous person who goes by the name of 'Tio Juan'. He is seemingly tied to the remnants of the 3500-year bald cypress tree known as the Senator that was burned down by an arson in 2012 who guards what is left of the tree. Did you know the museum has a real basement? It's a rarity in Florida and may be the most haunted spot in the entire museum compound! It has long been rumored to be home to a poltergeist named Nick who is known to dislike ladies. For many years, Nick was quiet. He'd been silent and inactive for many years. All that changed in 2022 when he came back with a vengeance and this year he was particularly active. Maybe it has something to do with the reemegence or a female spirit that is tied to Nick's story? Come on the tour to find out!
