Pale moonlight illuminates monstrous, beautiful mansions blanketed by a clear black sky. Still, each one as ominous a haunted house; with walls that echo stories of history, mystery and even tragedy.
The Haunted Historic Evansville ghost walks will take you back in time to haunts throughout Evansville's Riverside Historic Disctrict. Experience sights like the beautiful, historic Reitz family home with spirit appearances by Edward Reitz, Annie Fellows Johnston & Hallie Eaves Johnston (the Penny Lane Coffee Shop ghosts), Dr. Abraham Owen and more.
The walking tour will regale the district’s history, architecture, prominent residents and even ghost stories and spooky sightings. This event is a walking spooky theatrical experience as all ghost appearances are portrayed by Evansville Civic Theatre actors.
Tour begins at the First Presbyterian Church and lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Tours depart every 20 minutes from 6-9 p.m. Event ends around 10 p.m.
Family-friendly. Comfortable walking shoes, open-imaginations and handholding (if deemed necessary) is encouraged.
