🎃 A day of spooky science, costumes, and hands-on fun for the whole family!Get ready for a full day of frightful fun and curious discoveries at Kidzeum’s annual Hallowpalooza! We’re transforming the museum into a Halloween wonderland packed with festive activities, playful learning, and just the right amount of spooky.
Families can explore three floors of themed fun — from sensory surprises to glow-in-the-dark crafts — all designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Come in costume and enjoy a day that’s part science fair, part fall festival, and all-around fun!
👻 Schedule of Spooky Fun:
🕙 10:00 AM – Pumpkin Painting (Paid Activity)
Kick off your day with a colorful creation! Paint your own pumpkin masterpiece to take home. Limited quantities available; first come, first served.
📚 11:00 AM – Storytime with Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase and Alderman Shawn Gregory: Spooky Tales & Silly Tricks (Free)
Gather ‘round for a special Halloween storytime featuring silly, spooky, and imaginative reads — perfect for little listeners and big dreamers. We’re thrilled to welcome Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase and Alderman Shawn Gregory, two passionate community leaders who bring heart, energy, and hometown pride to every story they share.
🧪 1:00 PM – Spooky Sorcery Science Show (Free)
Watch as chemistry and magic collide in this interactive science show filled with bubbling potions, color-changing experiments, and plenty of “wow” moments.
✨ 1:30 - 2:30 PM – Glow-in-the-Dark Craft (Paid Activity)
Create your own glowing masterpiece — mini “terror-ariums” — and light up your imagination with this hands-on make-and-take activity.
🎭 2:30 - 4:00 PM – Community Costume Parade (Free)
Show off your spooky, silly, or sparkly style during our community costume parade! Walk the museum, strike a pose, and join the fun — a photographer will be on-site to capture the moment and snap a spooky family portrait from 3-4PM to remember the day.
🐍 4:00 - 6:00 PM – Creepy Creatures Petting Zoo (Free)
Meet scaly, furry, and feathered friends up close with Wild Times Exotics! Learn about these amazing animals, snap a photo, and maybe even hold one (if you’re brave!).
🕸️ All-Day Activities:
🧠 Little Monsters Lounge: Take a break, enjoy snacks, craft your own monster, and dance along to Kidz Bop hits at our mini Monster Mash dance floor.
🎯 Creepy Carnival Corner: Try your hand at Halloween-themed games and challenges — fun for all ages!
👋 Spooktacular Sensory Station: Reach in (if you dare!) and guess what’s inside — a silly, spooky way to test your senses.
