The NSO Hallowe’en Spooktacular returns with Henry Hiccup and the Forbidden Orchestra, a frightfully fun family matinee on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3:00pm at the Arts and Culture Centre. Deep in the forbidden forest, a mysterious cursed vault has been disturbed. The corpses of long-dead musicians have been reanimated and escaped! With the help of the mysterious Mountain King, a young wizard named Henry Hiccup must convince the musicians to return to the vault in time for the annual Party of the Dead!This 45-minute presentation, written by Kyle McDavid of Best Kind Productions, features local youth actors and the NSO performing music by Mussorgsky, Grieg, Berlioz, Michael Jackson, and John Williams’ Harry Potter suite. It’s the perfect way to get in the Halloween spirit with musical adventure full of mystery, laughter, and just the right amount of fright.
