This Halloween half term, Abney Park gives us a rare opportunity to enter the Victorian woodland Cemetery for a day and night time illuminated art trail of secular memorial shrines. Created with 10 artists, set designers and YOUR ancestors. Whose life will you honour? Who’s life has shaped you? From witches to non-comformers, from your great-grandmother to your first pet . We want to celebrate them all on our beautifully curated shrines. Send in your photos, buy tickets and get more information at www.projectaltar.com or bring messages and digital photos to print at our on-site craft station. A lovely family activity and a secular celebration of Autumn.Dogs welcome too.
Free by day to explore the 200,000 people buried amidst 31 acres dramatic woodland and magnificent Victorian cemetery with secular chapel at the centre. Enjoy our specially curated, interactive exhibition of art shrines in and around here chapel with opportunities to craft your photos and messages for loved ones onto the shrines.
But when the sun goes down, ticket holders will be treated to a twinkling illuminated path leading to the chapel, experiencing a rare opportunity to see the park and chapel after dark. All secular. All welcome. This isn't about death. This is a celebration of life, love, loss, joy, family, friendship and legacy - the human experiences that unite us.
A perfect way to bring in the Autumn half term and a different kind of treat for Halloween.

The night walk will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour with plenty of restaurants and bars near by.
By day you can get wander in the woodland for a good couple of hours. Dogs welcome in the park. On-site cafe serving amazing food daily until 4pm
