🎉 FREE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION — HALLOWEEN NIGHT! 🎃I’m excited to share that I received a small amount of funding through the Small Neighbourhood Grants program to independently organize a special FREE community event in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month!
For those who don’t know me, I’m the President of the Victoria Latin Dance Association (VLDA). The grant was awarded to me personally outside of my role, this event is separate from the VLDA, and it is not being funded by the VLDA.
It also happens to fall on Halloween — Saturday, October 31, 2026 — so I expect it to be a busy and exciting night!

⚠️ Accessibility Note: Please be aware that there are stairs required to access the studio.
🕗 EVENT SCHEDULE
8:00–9:00 PM: Beginner dance lesson — style & instructors TBD
9:00–9:30 PM: Dance performances including solos by Layla, Kim, Jessica, and Maggie, and a partner routine by Maksym. More performances to be confirmed!
9:30 PM to midnight: Social dancing 2-2-2 Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba/Urban/Semba
🎟️ FREE ADMISSION
This event is completely free and open to the public thanks to the grant funding.
Because it falls on Halloween and space at the studio is limited, I strongly recommend arriving early. Once we reach the venue’s maximum capacity, we won’t be able to admit anyone else.
🎃 WHAT TO BRING & WEAR
Costumes are welcome but completely optional! Whether you come in costume or not, I recommend dressing light and comfortably for dancing.
💧 Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the evening.
I’m really looking forward to bringing everyone together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, showcase Latin dance and culture, support local performers, and enjoy a special Halloween night with the community! 🎃💃🕺
