Inspired by Larry Bell’s installation, "The Dilemma of Griffin’s Cat," and just in time for Halloween, join us for an eerie evening screening of the sci-fi-horror classic, "The Invisible Man" (1933)!Late one snowy night, a mysterious stranger—his face completely concealed by bandages and dark glasses—arrives at a countryside inn. The locals are both curious and unnerved. But curiosity turns to horror when the truth is revealed: the man is invisible, the result of a dangerous scientific experiment gone awry. As his sanity unravels, he embarks on a chilling campaign of terror, using his unseen presence to manipulate, menace, and murder. Based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel and featuring revolutionary special effects, The Invisible Man is a chilling tale of ambition, isolation, and the terrifying cost of unchecked genius.
Professor Patrick Keating (Communications, Trinity University) will set the stage by introducing the eerie world of early 1930s horror and shedding light on the groundbreaking photographic effects that make "The Invisible Man" such a visual marvel.
Note: Seating in the auditorium is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
