What is Ecstatic Dance ?
Ecstatic dance is a free-form movement practice. No choreography, no steps to follow. We invite you to discover your own intuitive movement and meet your body’s natural wisdom.
We hold an intentional space that allows you to fully express yourself in a supportive community container.
In spirit of this community collaboration, let’s jam for a moment…

✨ Should I wear a costume?
This, my friend, is entirely up to you! Your measure, your comfort. This evening does offer us an opportunity to express in an expansive way.
An encouragement: Dress into an archetype that you are desiring to embody more of in your life, an expression you are wanting to explore more deeply. Perhaps that’s an animal spirit, character, or avatar of your becoming. OR maybe you want to embody more comfort + ease, so sweat pants and t-shirt are IT for you. It’s all welcome.
✨ Are children welcome?
Always! This is a multi-generational gathering. Kids always dance free on our floor. We simply ask that caregivers tend whole-heartedly to their needs for the duration of the event + honor the quietude of opening/closing circle shares.
✨ What can I expect?
Practical magic, creative expression, heart-centered community connection. Incredible music from live musicians. A intricately woven sound journey by Katie Toohil. This special event will be a bit more expansive than a typical ED evening. Come find out why...
✨ Is this a sober event?
YES. As with all Dallas Movement Collective events, we honor the container of an intoxicant free space. This is so that we can experience the magic of experience with lucidity! And see just how intoxicating the ceremony of the dance can be… If you know, you know. If you don’t, come find out. 😉

We value reciprocity. If you are unable to afford a ticket, but you want to attend, reach out to see about exchanging something at equal value as a form of energetic reciprocation. Volunteer opportunities are available at each dance in exchange for entry. These are limited and must be arranged in advance. Please reach out to us directly to inquire.
