CALLING SAMBA DRUMMERS EVERYWHERE!Samba New York! will be performing at the NYC Village Halloween Parade this year, and you're invited to play with our Bateria (Drum Section)!

PARADE DETAILS:
1. DATE: Thursday, October 31st, 2024
2. CALL TIME: 5:30 PM (upon arrival, our Bateria will assemble and rehearse -- please be on time)
3. MEETING PLACE: The park to the west of Sixth Avenue at the corner of Spring Street in Manhattan (more specific details will be provided upon registration)
4. GEAR: All participants need to bring their own instruments and accessories (straps, sticks, mallets, extra heads, etc.). There will be no place to stow cases or other personal items.
5. REPERTOIRE: The repertoire for the Parade will be sent via unlisted YouTube videos to each participant upon registration. All participants are expected to be proficient at playing this repertoire on their respective instruments by Parade day (suggestion: practice the pieces consistently a little bit each day).
6. DRESS CODE: White pants (no sweat pants) and the 2023 Samba New York! jersey (cost of jersey = $50). In case of cool weather, a black sweater or sweatshirt may be worn underneath the jersey.
7. PARADE TIME: The Parade begins at 7:00 PM. The exact time that Samba New York! steps off will depend on our location in the lineup. The Parade route takes approximately one hour to complete, going up Sixth Avenue to West 16th Street.
HOW TO REGISTER:
Send an email to [email protected] and include the following information about yourself:
1. Full name
2. City/country of residence
3. Instrument you'd like to play
4. Preferred jersey size and type (unisex or babylook)
5. Samba group (if applicable)
6. Prior samba playing experience
Note: Samba New York! will try to accommodate, but cannot guarantee, the instrument preference of each participant. This is because we need to make sure the numbers of players in each section are balanced. If a change needs to be made to your preferred instrument, you will be notified upon registration.
REGISTRATION FEE (nonrefundable):
$50 - if received by 9/5/24
$75 - due by 10/25/24

REFUND POLICY:
All payments are nonrefundable. No refunds or credits will be granted for not being able to come to NYC, missing the Parade, or any other reason.
OTHER TRAVEL DETAILS/EXPENSES:
Participants in the event with Samba New York! are responsible for arranging/paying for their own travel, meals, accommodations and any other aspect and/or expense related to their trip and/or stay in NYC.
