Writing the 7 Senses - fun creative writing workshop for children at Eltham Library for Easter timeAbout this Event
Want the kids to have something creative during the Easter holidays? Have them join local author & photographer Amelia B. Kyazze for a fun creative writing workshop, using her methodology Writing the 7 Senses.
With music, photography, observation of nature and humour, we create a free and creative space that allows children to improve their skills and exercise their imagination. With an emphasis on inclusion and diversity, we explore different perspectives, character building, creating suspense, and writing about different cultures and settings around the world as well as across London. For children especially, this helps to build skills, empathy and self-confidence. And it's a lot of fun!
From an 8-year old participant:
“My pencil was free to fly all over the page!”
From a 10-year old participant:
“5/5 stars!”
Amelia B. Kyazze is the author of two novels, Into the Mouth of the Lion (2021) and Ahead of the Shadows (2022), as well as a creative writing workbook, Writing the 7 Senses. In 2022 she worked with the Lewisham Arts Education Network (LEAN) to deliver creative writing workshops in secondary schools. She also was awarded a London Borough of Culture Grant for creative writing workshops as part of Lewisham's Borough of Culture 2022.
