Details

There is something about this time of year that invites us to slow down.
The days are getting shorter. The air is cooler. The trees are letting go.
Before the season of darker days arrives, come spend an evening practicing something most of us aren't particularly good at... stopping.
Savasana, traditionally known as corpse pose, is much more than the pose we do at the end of yoga class. It is a practice of stillness. Of completion. Of allowing the body to stop doing and simply be.
And sometimes, stopping is harder than moving.
Before the Dark is an immersive Saturday evening created as a seasonal pause. It is a chance to step out of the noise of everyday life, settle into your body, and explore what happens when there is nowhere else you need to be.
Your evening will include:
-A short and accessible teaching on savasana, corpse pose, and the surprisingly rich symbolism behind it.
- Gentle embodied practices exploring effort, stillness and the transition from doing to resting.
- A collective mandala-making ritual inspired by the changing season and the cycles of ending and beginning.
- Warm, non-alcoholic spiced cider to sip while we create... a simple moment of connection and seasonal celebration.
- A guided meditation exploring transition, impermanence and the quiet space between one thing and the next.
- A long, fully supported savasana with blankets, bolsters and everything you need to settle in.
As Winter, Halloween, and Día de los Muertos approach, this season naturally brings themes of darkness, remembrance, impermanence and change a little closer to the surface.
But this isn't a grief workshop, a Halloween party, or an evening of forced introspection.
You won't be asked to share your deepest thoughts, manifest your future, or figure anything out.
Instead, you'll be invited to slow down, notice, rest and allow something to be complete.
Come exactly as you are.
