Come support a local playwright's new work in IFTheatre's IndyFringe Festival!Synopsis: "Quoth the raven, 'Nevermore.'” Set against the backdrop of small-town New England during the Industrial Revolution, SPIN is the untold story of Edgar Allan Poe’s gothic horror poems "The Raven" and "Lenore." Itinerant craftswoman Lenore Rookwood arrives in Lowell, Massachusetts in autumn 1845, desperate to sell the cloth she spins and weaves before the hunger of winter sets in. She catches the eye of Guy De Vere, owner of the local fabric mill and the most eligible bachelor in town. But Guy and Lenore are each hiding secrets, and as their stories tangle together, the gossips of Lowell spin their own versions of the truth. Spooky, witchy, and Halloween-y. Also, there’s a queer love story. A dash of anti-capitalism. And of course, a raven.
