As the Wheel turns and the veil grows thin, we set a place at the table for those who came before us. Samhain marks a sacred turning point in the Wheel of the Year, when the harvest season gives way to the darker months and we turn our attention toward remembrance, reflection, and the mysteries of life and death. Join Circles of the High Sierras Temple for our Ancestors' Feast, a Samhain community ritual honoring those who have passed and celebrating the connections that endure beyond death. Ancestors come in many forms. They may be relatives connected to us by blood, chosen family, spiritual teachers, beloved friends, or cherished animal companions. All those whose lives have touched ours have a place in our remembrance. We invite participants to bring a photograph, keepsake, or other representation of an ancestor they wish to honor, along with a story or memory they feel comfortable sharing. Together, we'll open sacred space, reflect on the significance of Samhain, and honor our ancestors through shared memories, offerings, meditation, and divination. We'll invite ancestral spirits to join us in remembrance as we make offerings of food and drink, expressing our gratitude for the lives, lessons, and legacies they have left behind. At the heart of our ritual is the Ancestors' Feast, a shared meal celebrating the bonds between the living and the dead. As we gather around the table, we'll enjoy food, conversation, and community while symbolically welcoming those who came before us to share in our celebration.
